Palestinian Maintenance Fund Holds Participatory Workshop in Jenin Governorate
to Enhance Women’s and Marginalized Groups’ Access to Justice
Jenin – 26 November 2025
In line with the role of the Palestinian Maintenance Fund in promoting access to justice and legal services for women and the most vulnerable groups — including women, children, the elderly, and persons with disabilities — and in partnership with the Jenin Governorate and the Sawasiya III Programme, the Fund held a participatory workshop entitled:
"Exploring Avenues of Cooperation between the Palestinian Maintenance Fund and Partner Institutions to Enhance Women’s Access to Justice and Legal Services."
The workshop was attended by representatives of civil society organizations, justice sector institutions, and government bodies, including the Ministry of Social Development, the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the Police, Enforcement Departments, and the Property and Land Tax Department. The diversity of participating institutions constituted an effective protection mechanism for maintenance-entitled groups.
The workshop emphasized the importance of strengthening integration and coordination among institutions to ensure women, children, the elderly, and persons with disabilities can access legal and social services. It stressed that multi-sectoral cooperation is fundamental to improving the effectiveness of responses and developing more inclusive and equitable protection mechanisms.
Discussions also addressed the main obstacles facing women in accessing maintenance, including legal procedures and the prevailing economic and social conditions, while highlighting the need to raise community awareness and facilitate service delivery to the most marginalized areas.
As for the workshop outcomes, they focused on strengthening institutional coordination, developing unified referral mechanisms, and facilitating women’s and marginalized groups’ access to more just and effective legal and social services.
These efforts come within the Palestinian Maintenance Fund’s vision of building an integrated protection system that consolidates family justice and promotes the principles of justice and the rule of law within Palestinian society.
