Birzeit University Legal Clinic Hosts Palestinian Maintenance Fund Lawyer for “Enforcement Law” Course

On Wednesday, 3 December 2025, the Legal Clinic at the Faculty of Law and Public Administration at Birzeit University hosted Ms. Majd Khalaila, a Legal Follow-up and Collection Lawyer at the Palestinian Maintenance Fund, as part of the “Enforcement Law” course supervised by Professor Hasan Abu Hajla.

This session was organized as part of the outcomes of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Palestinian Maintenance Fund and Birzeit University’s Legal Clinic, aimed at strengthening academic partnership and providing practical opportunities for law students to understand family justice mechanisms, bridging theoretical knowledge with real-world practice, particularly in maintenance cases and the enforcement of Sharia rulings.

During the lecture, Ms. Khalaila presented the nature of the Fund’s work, the practical challenges encountered in enforcing maintenance orders, and the pivotal role the Fund plays in closing the gap between judicial rulings and their actual implementation, thereby contributing to the promotion of social justice.

The visit reflects the Legal Clinic’s commitment to linking academic learning with practical application, enhancing students’ understanding of the legal and judicial landscape in Palestine.
