National Bank and Palestinian Maintenance Fund Sign Memorandum of Understanding to Support the Most Vulnerable Families and Strengthen Their Resilience During Ramadan

As part of joint efforts to promote social solidarity and support the most vulnerable groups during the holy month of Ramadan, the National Bank and the Palestinian Maintenance Fund signed a cooperation agreement today to provide food parcels to the most vulnerable maintenance-entitled families headed by women across the West Bank.

The agreement was signed by the Chief Executive Officer of the National Bank, Salameh Khalil, and the General Director of the Palestinian Maintenance Fund, Ms. Fatima Al-Mouqat, in the presence of several administrative staff from both parties. The signing took place at the Bank’s General Administration headquarters in Ramallah.

During his speech at the signing ceremony, Mr. Khalil emphasized that this initiative reflects the National Bank’s commitment to its social responsibility and its dedication to supporting the most vulnerable families. He noted that the initiative aims to alleviate the economic burdens these families face and to strengthen their resilience amid challenging economic conditions. Mr. Khalil also commended the efforts of the Palestinian Maintenance Fund and its active role in protecting the rights of women and their children.

Ms. Fatima Al-Mouqat highlighted that the initiative comes in light of the escalating economic and social challenges faced by the Palestinian people due to occupation-related practices. She stressed that supporting families benefiting from the Fund’s services, particularly women-headed households, represents an important step in strengthening their resilience, enabling them to face these challenges while preserving their dignity.

She added that the collaboration between public institutions and the private sector reflects a collective responsibility to support the resilience of Palestinian society and reinforce the social protection system during this critical period.
